MATCH 1
Matt Bauer vs Antonio Sonoma
Matt Bauer 5í9" 151 30yo
Antonio Sonoma 5í7" 142 28yo
Matt (green speedos) brought Antonio (purple speedos) to NHB. Antonio had some wrestling experience in HS, but not a lot. He is a gym addict, at least 4 times a week and when Matt told him about NHB (they met at the gym) he said he wanted to do a match. Matt had no idea how tough Antonio would be. What he lacked in wrestling skills he made up for in pure determination, and strength.
Both of these guys have well defined, tight, muscular bodies and they use every ounce of muscle in this match. Many times they ask each other "you give?", but this match goes 19 minutes with only one submission ( I think out of sheer exhaustion). Matt keeps Antonio in various body scissors for long periods. He tries a sleeper, full nelson, arm bars, and any thing else he can think of in combination with the body scissors, but Antonio seems to just get tougher and more determined not to give up. Youíll love seeing how pumped Antonio gets by the middle of the match, pumped all over. He just seems to get more and more defined as the match goes on. Matt is already cut and ripped and you can sure see every inch of their muscles locked against each other.
The finishing hold is a crushing head lock and powerful squeeze. Weíll let you see who the winner is, but trust me on this one, you wonít be disappointed with the wrestling in this match.
MATCH 2
Roger Bennett vs Tyler Sipriano
Roger Bennett 6í4" 203 31yo
Tyler Sipriano 6í 185 23yo
Roger (Black Speedo) was visiting from Texas and asked NHB for a match. Tyler (Black Speedos with Red Stripe) was up for the challenge. Roger is tough, rough and with a lot of wrestling experience. He was determined to beat a couple NYC boys before returning to Texas. Tyler was up for the challenge. He is in great shape, wrestled in HS a couple of years, and works out daily. He is powerful and was ready for the "big Texan". This is a slow paced, evenly fought match. Tyler keep taunting Roger verbally throughout the match. The only submission went to Tyler in a great reverse head lock and body scissors. There was no way out for Roger. He had to submit.
To see both these guys flex, strain, stretch and work so hard for the submission is awesome. The slower pace of this match makes these guys flex longer and harder to hold each other down. Tylerís well defined, muscular legs wrapped around Rogerís head in a vicious scissors should have been total submission, but Roger wrestled even harder and broke the hold.
The cocky Tyler tried to verbally show his overconfidence, but Roger wasnít falling for it. Roger used his very long, strong legs to tie up Tyler many times. By Tyler is just too strong.. Tyler has huge "guns" and kept trying for the head lock that would end the match, but Roger wouldnít allow it. Tyler worked hard to get the hold on (a great sight), but Roger is just too knowledgeable.
Even non-wrestlers will have a respect for the great shape these two guys are in, and for their ability to give and take a lot of punishment.
MATCH 3
Trent Barrow vs Jay Rokk
Trent Barrow 5í9" 149 18yo
Jay Rokk 5í6" 147 18yo
Trent (blue speedos) and Jay (green speedo) are both trained fighters, in great shape. They are friends from school who have been planning this match for NHB for more than a month. Both guys were psyched and ready to fight. These two 18 year olds are incredible. They both have been working out all through High School and both are trained in "shoot fighting". Neither wanted to go home a loser, you know, all that macho stuff. NHB was amazed at the variety of moves and holds that these guys know, and at the counters as well. I think that both these guys are going to do a lot of winning in NHB wrestling.
The physique on both of them gives you just an idea how strong they are. Their stamina and cardio-vascular endurance canít be topped. They just didnít want to stop this match. There are 6 submissions in this one, some real quick and amazing, others long and drawn out. It is absolutely not a draw, there is a decisive winner. Itís so cool watching these two teens battle like they did. Both guys say they want to take on "real" wrestlers who are at least 20 lbs. heavier than they are. Iím sure youíll see that in the near future.
For those of us who have been wrestling for a long time, there is a lot to be learned here. I couldnít believe how they got some of the submissions. I thought I had seen all the moves and holds possible (and probably been caught in most of them), but I learned some new ones in this match-up. This is truly a unique NHB match. I expect to see a lot more of these two muscleboys.
MATCH 4
Swage vs JoSun Lee
Swage 5í9í 164 25yo
Josun Lee 5í4" 143 20yo
Josun (red speedos) is a college student from Hong Kong training to be an ultimate fighter. He was introduced to NHB by Greg Conlon and he immediately asked for a match with Swage (blue speedos) after seeing a couple of his other matches. The size and weight difference didnít seem to phase Josun at all. He was ready and in shape. Swage is as obnoxious as ever. Heís been doing a lot of wrestling lately, mostly with older, more experienced guys, and his confidence is high.
But Josun is ready to give him a lesson. This is a super brawl, not too much respect for the rules. Choke holds, arm bars, real submission fighting. Josun wanted to workout hard against Swage, and Swage was up for it. Swage is used to wrestling bigger guys and thought this smaller guy was going to be "easy" - Man was he wrong. Swage had one "hell" of a fight on his hands. Those of you who like it rough and hard, this is your match.
Swage fans (especially those of you that liked the Swage - Bradford match on Wanna Wrestle 3) will love this one. Swage gets pounded by the smaller, younger student from Hong Kong - and Swage doesnít like it. They shake hands at the end and call the whole thing a "draw" - but somehow NHB doesnít think that Swage is going to let this one rest. Watch for these two athletes again going at it - probably in a Wanna Wrestle match!
