MATCH 1
Lance Jeffers vs. Eric Malley
Lance Jeffers 5â8" 156 32yo
Eric Malley 5â8" 154 28yo
Lance, (blue speedos) from South Carolina, flew into NYC to take on some of the NHB Wrestlers. Having just competed in "THE CLASH" in Atlanta, Lance was in great shape and ready for some tough competition. NHB thought Eric (black and white speedos) would be a great match for Lance. Almost exactly the same size, these two guys are very, very strong for their height and weight. Both brag about taking on and defeating much bigger guys. This was a perfect set up.
Lance and Eric wrestle so fast and hard that is difficult to keep track of this one. Lance gets the upper hand right away, but Eric isnât about to let that last too long. Lance works the arms and head real good, Eric likes using his legs for scissors and controlling holds. They both work hard to get and keep control. Eric gets an excellent reverse cradle at the beginning of the second match and we thought it was all over. But Lance just totally powers out ö incredible strength and fortitude. Both these wrestlers strain, pull, and struggle to beat their opponent to the mat, but that is no easy task.
Eric Malley fans will love some real competition for Eric. He has it in Lance Jeffers. This match had to end because of a minor injury to Ericâs shoulder, but they both vowed that this one is not over. NHB sure hopes itâs "to be continued".
MATCH 2
Justin Roberts vs. Zack Armstrong
Justin Roberts 6â1" 168 19yo
Zack Armstrong 5â10" 153 28yo
NHB has been trying to get Zack (blue speedo) to do an NHB match for over a year. We first met him in NYC and he didnât want to be taped unless he was wearing a mask. Right away we knew he would be an awesome wrestler. Heâs got all it takes to be great. Justin (green speedos) has been training hard and learning a lot of submission moves and holds. Heâs gearing up for a match against Brandon Aldrich
Justin was prepared to win easily, at least that is what he was telling himself. These guys never met till the match. Zack was more cautious and less optimistic. He thought the height and weight advantage of Justin would be too much. They start the match even, both trying for control, and Justin wins out with a great cradle that he holds on Zack for a long time. When Zack finally breaks out, he is pretty well spent for the rest of the first match. He tries to hang on and get Justin down, but it doesnât work. Justin eventually gets him in a real tight full body scissors and Zack submits.
Zack suddenly decides that he is not going to get beat by this "punk kid" and he begins the second match with increased vigor and renewed determination. He gets tougher and tougher as the match continues, and Justin takes a lot of punishment. The second match lasts over 20 minutes of total submission wrestling at an incredible pace. (It was over 90o that night in NYC.) Lots of scissors, face locks, pushing and pounding. Also, an incredible full nelson that has both wrestlers squirming for position.
Both of these guys have nothing to be ashamed of, but of course, there is a winner. You wonât want to miss this match. NHB is proud to say that this match is "truly" NHB WRESTLING!
WATCH FOR THE REMATCH ! ! !
MATCH 3
Brandon Aldrich vs Swage
Brandon Aldrich 6â 167 21yo
Swage 5â9" 164 27yo
Brandon (red speedos) has been asking NHB for a match against Swage (blue speedos) ever since he called NHB. He finally got his wish and man was he up for this match. Swage is probably in his best from ever, tough, lean, muscular, and thinking that he was going to have an easy time with the younger, less experienced Brandon. Thus, Swageâs overconfidence gave the first submission to Brandon after only about 8 minutes of wrestling. Swage was totally helpless, on his back, in a reverse head lock. Brandonâs long, strong legs gave him the balance he needed to get the submission from Swage.
Swage got up and immediately said "this one ainât over yet". The whole feel of this match changed. Swage was much more aggressive, cautious, tougher and rougher. It took about 12 minutes, but he finally got the submission from Brandon. Swageâs cross-face and body scissors proved just too strong for Brandon to break out of.
Match three (this one went two out of three) was incredible. Both these muscled wrestlers worked real hard and had no mercy on each other. It was just a matter of what was going to get the best and tightest hold first, or who would get tired first. Youâll have to see the outcome for yourselves.
One thing you can be sure of, you will see these two guys again in NHB matches. Look out Kyle Bradford, Brandon wants you next.
MATCH 4
Troy Donaldson vs Ed Leon
Troy Donaldson 5â11â 175 37yo
Ed Leon 5â11" 172 23yo
Ed Leon (red speedos) is a Philadelphia "tough guy" who came to NYC just to wrestle and had not even a clue that he might lose to this "older guy" Troy (green speedos) from LA. Ed is a street kid, living, and fighting, on the dark streets of South Philly. He is tough, but he was in for a wrestling match that he just could never imagine.
Troy began by throwing Ed into a body scissors and reverse head lock and just poured on the pressure. It was all over. Ed couldnât take it, and boy is he pissed! He tries to get tougher and stronger as the match goes on, but so does Troy. Ed takes a real good whoopinâ and brings that home to Philly with him.
Troy earned the bragging rights in this match. Itâs almost completely one sided, not really in the NHB tradition, but still a great match. Troy is awesome, and really shows his wrestling ability. Ed is tough, proud and not about to give up at all, but Troy changes his mind pretty fast. This is as one-sided as it gets.
Ed promises a rematch, after some "hometown" wrestling lessons. Hopefully, heâll turn to Johnny Romano and the Philadelphia Wrestling Club for some help.
