MATCH 1
Lance Jeffers vs. Axel
Lance Jeffers 5ä8" 158 33yo
Axel 6ä1" 160 22yo
Axel (blue speedos) expected an easy match, once he met Lance (black speedos). NHB warned Axel that Lance is one of the best. We tried to tell Axel to be real careful against Lance knowing that Lance is almost undefeatable by guys near his own size.
The first fall was over in about 30 seconds. Axel clamped on a tight, vicious leg long and Lance tapped out immediately. But from that point on, Lance took over. The falls went much longer than 30 seconds and Lance used all his skill to keep the long, lanky, strong legs of Axel from getting him in any kind of hold. Lance had more determination and submission skill. Axel is very skilled in collegiate wrestling (wrestled for Indiana State U), but his collegiate skill wore thin again Lanceäs submission holds.
Once again Lance proved that he is the NHB Wrestler to beat, but this is an incredible match to watch. Axel is much more powerful and a great wrestler, so he is often on top trying to work some "useless" collegiate move. Lance is power in his defensive skills and keeps Axel from ever getting another submission from him.
Itäs more fun to watch Axel get so pissed that he canät win. Itäs even more fun to see Axel use excuses when he loses. Axel hasnätä lost many wrestling matches, but he sure is getting a lesson in NHB Wrestling.
MATCH 2
Brandon Aldrich vs. Trent Hall
Brandon Aldrich 6ä 173 23yo
Trent Hall 5"11" 163 25yo
Trent (black speedos) is a really cool actor, performer in NYC. He contacted NHB to learn some basic wrestling moves and holds. We jumped at the opportunity to teach this good-looking, athletic dancer. Brandon (blue speedos) does a short , but intense single fall submission match with Trent. Youäll be impressed as we are with how quick Trent has learned the basics. Even though he is giving up 10 pounds and a couple of years of experience to Brandon, he doesnät hold back a bit and keeps Brandon on his back for most of the match.
Brandonäs legs prove just a little too powerful for Trent at the end, who gets caught in a figure-four head scissors and ultimately submits. You can expect to see a lot more of Trent Hall in NHB Matches.
MATCH 3
Dave Martell vs Brandon Aldrich
Dave Martell 6ä1" 172 35yo
Brandon Aldrich 6ä 173 23yo
Dave (navy blue speedos), visiting from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Asked for this match with Brandon (purple speedos). Brandon has been working out and perfecting his submission wrestling skills, but he didnät have much of a chance to show them in this match. This is about as much of a "squash job" as NHB ever has. Even though these guys are the same size and we thought this would be an even match-up, Brandon was totally out wrestled.
Dave used a few dirty tactics as well (not that he needed too). At one point Brandon curses Dave out while taking a punishing hold on his back. Dave uses lots of painful arm locks. He ties up Brandon in all ways and then totally controls his arms preventing him from any kind of escape. After 12 minutes and three submissions, Brandon had all he wanted to take from Dave.
Itäs too bad this match doesnät last a lot longer. Itäs a real good one to watch. Beginner wrestlers will learn a lot from the moves, blocks and clamps used here.
MATCH 4
Dave Martell vs Axel
Dave Martell 6ä1" 172 35yo
Axel 6ä1" 163 22yo
After watching what a good wrestler Dave (red speedos) is, and how he handled Brandon Aldrich, we decided to give him a match with the very experienced, trained, collegiate strongman, Axel, (black speedos). The cocky Axel again thought he was going to have an easy time with Dave but he soon found himself locked in a vicious head scissors. When he struggled, with great difficulty, to get out of that one, he found himself locked in a tight figure-four head scissors that had him reeling - trying not to submit.
Finally, Axel escapes with a new found respect for Dave. A fantastic exchange of collegiate and submission moves and holds follow for a full 20 minutes without a break of a submission. This is one of the few NHB matches that ends in a draw. It is one that you will watch over and over again. Axel expert use of collegiate moves has practically no effect on Dave and Daveäs tremendous submission skill has no toll on Axel. These guys are as evenly matches as NHB can get. Everyone will like the even exchange and tough wrestling in this match.
MATCH 5
Justin Roberts vs Tony Dondato
Justin Roberts 6ä1" 164 20yo
Tony Dondato 5ä11" 182 21yo
Justin (blue speedos) and Tony (white speedos) have been friends since they were in elementary school. Tony wanted his first match against Justin, but Justin wasnät too ready to take on Tony. Tony benches 315 lbs., is a gym rat, and very strong, but not a wrestler. Justin thought that the match would be very one sided and he would get his butt kicked. Finally, Tony convinced Justin to wrestle. (Actually, they had just come to the NHB Studio to watch another match.)
This is awesome. Tony is so strong that he tosses Justin around easily. He wraps Justin up but doesnät have the skill to put him in a submission hold and make him give. Justin hangs in there until he can break free and get a submission lock on Tony , and he does ù THREE TIMES! Itäs incredible to watch the smaller, thinner wrestler defeat the bodybuilding hunk. At one point, Tony lays on the mat and says: "Iäve got to learn to wrestle".
Justin uses a head scissors submission and a partial figure-four to get submissions. Justin proved that he is becoming one of the premier wrestlers for NHB. Having recently signed a modeling contract, heäs a little harder to nail down for a match, but he sure will keep wrestling for NHB. Look for him on many NHB tapes ù and look for Tony too. We are going to train him.
