MATCH 1
Brandon Aldrich vs. Asante

Once Asante (black speedos), saw Brandon (green speedos) on Wanna Wrestle 15, he asked NHB for a match with Brandon. Brandon willingly accepted. These two athletes are evenly matches in size and experience. Both are in excellent cardio vascular shape and NHB was convinced that this was going to be a great match-up -- and it was.
Brandon used his size and bulk to over power Asante at first, but not for long. Asante is wiry, agile and quick and he used it all quite effectively against Brandon. This is a true 2 out of 3 fall match. Itâs a slower paced submission match than NHB is used to with lots of long held holds. Both guys just would not give up. Both wrestlers wound up depending more on power than skill, so this turned into a test of strength and strong wills.
Brandon hold Asante in a strong cross face and body scissors for the longest time. Asante just squirms until he is free. When Brandon asked Asante "do you give", Asante just laughed. Asante climbs on top of Brandon and keeps Brandon down on the mat unable to recover just by using his height and excellent leverage. No submission here either, so both wrestlers knew that each had to work much harder to win the match, and they did.
No doubt about the genuineness of this NHB Match. Great wrestling, great wrestlers, great guys.
MATCH 2
Patrick Donovan vs Iohann Ioto
Patrick Donovan 6â1" 165 29yo
Iohann Ioto 5"11" 167 22yo
Iohann (red speedos), originally from China now living in NYC, contacted NHB and challenged Patrick (blue speedos). Patrick is always up for a challenge. He never refuses. NHB told Iohann that Patrick was an experienced wrestler. Iohann is in real good shape, but has little wrestling experience. This was setting up to be a one sided, Patrick Donovan win ö exactly.
Patrick wanted to teach this new wrestler a few tricks, show him moves and holds, and yet make sure he came out a definite winner. Iohann, totally smooth, strong, good shape, big chest, proved to be a lot stronger than Patrick first thought, but Patrick still managed to accomplish all he set out to do. Iohann got a lesson, one that we are sure he will use on many other NHB opponents.
It is so excellent to see the smooth strong Chinese wrestler work hard, struggle and fail to get out of the many Patrick Donovan holds. Itâs so excellent to see Patrick apply those holds to the inexperienced Iohann. Itâs almost as if Iohann had no idea what was coming next, but he sure is a brawler.
NHB has promised to teach Iohann many more moves and holds. He is a good athlete ö he will be a good wrestler.
MATCH 3
Bobby Bigelow vs Justin Roberts
Bobby Bigelow 5â11" 167 19yo
Justin Roberts 6â1" 164 21yo
A great match-up ö in the sand pit. Super wrestling match. Justin (blue speedos) and Bobby (gray speedos) are evenly matched in every way. These two athletes were poised to wrestle hard and win. Bobby has great upper body strength and immediately used his power to throw Justin into the sand. Bobby stayed on top of Justin and countered every attempt Justin made to get the upper position. Justin was getting frustrated and that wasnât helping his wrestling at all. A reverse choke hold and body scissors got the first submission from Justin.
Immediately, these two great athletes stood up and went at it again. Once again it was all control by Bobby. Again, he threw in the choke hold and got another submission. Justin was not a "happy wrestler".
The third match is an awesome exchange of moves and holds. Neither of these guys would give the other even a little opening. Youâve got to see these moves ö in the sand. You wonât believe the dexterity and elasticity of these young wrestlers. This is really great wrestling.
Every once in a while, NHB BATTLE comes up with a totally outstanding match. This is absolutely one of them.
