Glenn Fox 6’2” 183 19yo
Glenn (Purple speedos) had watched Jay (black/gold speedos) wrestle for NHB BATTLE before and Glenn wanted a shot at him. He came to NYC for a couple matches, but definitely asked to take on Jay. Glenn knew that Jay has much more training and lot more mat time, but Glenn loves a challenge. “I may not beat him” he said, “but he’ll know he’s been in a fight” – and that is exactly what happened.
Jay figured he would be able to play around with the long, lanky swimmer. Jay was wrong. Glenn is way tougher than he looks and once he clamped his head lock on Jay, Jay knew he was in a real wrestling match. Glenn uses his long, powerful legs real well, and Jay had a lot of trouble escaping. Glenn clamped a head scissors on Jay that had Jay squirming under a lot of pressure for about 4 minutes. Then, when Jay escaped, Glenn threw it right back on again.
Jay used his tremendous power and skill to beat Glenn, but this is some really great wrestling. Glenn shows his stuff and Jay proves that he is up for any challenge.
Bobby Baker 6’ 182 22yo
Max Anderson 5’11” 181 23yo
Bobby (red speedos) has been asking for a match against Max (black speedos) for years. Bobby has been training in Judo and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. Totally confident, Bobby wanted to make a side bet that he would “crush” Max. So, it turned out that is was the confident BJJ Bobby against the consummate submission wrestler Max. No love lost here. Both guys wanted to win.
Max surprises Bobby right away by lifting him off the mat and putting him on his back for upper control. Test of strength – turns and power moves follow until Max makes the mistake of giving Bobby his right arm while Bobby’s shoulders are on the mat. The arm bar is in – ju-jitsu style – legs across the face and chest – and Max is in deep trouble. Bobby bridges on his feet and shoulders to apply added pressure and you can see the excruciating pain on Max’s face – but no submission. Max wrestles and pulls until he is free but his arm is “toast”. His elbow’s been extended.
Max then turns on the pressure himself and keeps Bobby away from his right arm. Lots of great moves and holds, a really tough match for both wrestlers. Bobby Baker fans have asked to see him wrestle Max – here it is – and it’s a definite barn-burner.
Bryan Hollister 6’ 211 21yo
Christos Voronin 5’11” 181 18yo
THE REMATCH ! We have never had two guys more psyched to wrestle each other than Bryan (blue speedos) and Chris (black/green speedos). Their first match was the day before and it was rough. They each went out the night of the first match, but both came in early to be ready for the rematch. Chris is totally convinced he can beat the muscle boy. Bryan just wants to wrap up Chris in his headlock and pour on the pressure.
They start off facing each other – very even. Bryan gets the upper hand and begins to work over Chris. Chris uses his strong legs to reverse and try an arm bar – Bryan powers out. They battle each other all out and rough. Neither wrestler is about to lose. Christos is one tough 18 year old. At 181 pounds, he has no trouble tossing the 211 pound muscle kid around the mat.
Bryan clamps on his infamous head lock and cranks. Chris struggles and finally escapes. But the hold has had its effect. Bryan’s huge arms and chest did some damage to the muscle teen. Chris refocuses and goes back at Bryan. These wrestlers go at each other for twenty minutes. You can bet, this feud is not over yet.
