Dillon Walsh 5’11” 209 19yo
Blake Matson 6’5” 202 23yo
This match is a match of opposites. Dillon (blue speedos) is shorter, solid, beefy, super muscular, aggressive and a real powerhouse. Blake (yellow speedos) is way tall, lanky, knows a lot of moves and holds, in great shape with outstanding stamina. We had no idea who would come out on top when we set up this match. Blake uses his long legs to his advantage, and he is very strong. Dillon has vicious power and he can hurt his opponent without really trying.
There is a definite winner. One guy taps more than one time, the other guy doesn't tap at all. What's your guess?? But it's by no stretch a squash job. It’s very even wrestling throughout - good moves, lots of reversals. Some really tough holds used by both wrestlers. Styles are different, but both guys are powerful. Blake uses moves and holds that suit his body and build, so does Dillon. This is really great.
Both wrestlers got off the mat and said, "bring on Max" . Max was at the studio watching this match. They got it. They both got their chance against Max. Incredibly awesome. Just wait till they are released - real soon.
Jim Brennan 6’1” 199 20yo
Max Anderson 5’11” 196 23yo
Jim (black speedos) put on 15 pounds of muscle before challenging Max (rust speedos). Jim knew he was in for a real tough match. He honestly thought he could make himself an NHB BATTLE favorite by defeating Max. Jim is real solid. Wrestling him is like wrestling a “tree”. He doesn’t have an ounce of fat on him. But he gives up too easily, or so says Max. “I don’t have to put on the pressure. Once I get him in a good hold – he taps. He should at least try to get out! “ That’s cocky Max.
Mostly a one sided match, Max has his way with Jim. Jim takes a good beating and wins up with an injured calf muscle. He was limping around for the next two days. Max Anderson is at his best against Jim. He uses moves and holds that he has not used before. He keeps Jim wrapped up for the entire match. Rarely is Jim able to execute a viable reversal – and when he does, Max just powers out and puts him in a nasty submission move. Max out did himself.
Bart Gilroy watched this match on tape. He’s itching for a rematch against Max. Bart vows to beat Max multiple times without choking him out. He’s wants to beat Max at this own style of submission wrestling.
Jay Phoenix 5’11” 197 20yo
Lance Gilroy 5’8” 195 24yo
Lance (black-yellow speedos) has actually wrestled Jay (black-blue speedos) in the pro ring in Ohio last summer. (Jay is from Scotland and comes to the USA for some pro wrestling.) They know each others style, but they had not wrestled a real submission match against each other, except the tag team, BATTLING BODIES 20. Lance is a cocky dude, and he’ll do anything to win – absolutely anything. Rules mean nothing to him. If Lance is in trouble in a match, the rule book goes out the window.
Jay is much stronger than he looks and a skilled wrestler. He just won’t quit. He was determined not to tap out to Lance. Early on in the match, Lance puts on a front face lock that winds up across Jay’s adams’ apple. Jay is choking and can’t breathe, but not tapping. He hangs in against the python arms of Lance and escapes. Lots of leg work, some great scissors, chin locks and cross faces and tough ankle and leg locks. This is a no quit match, some wicked wrestling.
Jay is sporting a sun burn on his shoulders and Lance just rubs his shoulders on the mat each and every chance he gets. Lance may not have the skill of Jay, but he has much more determination and will power. Lance is strong as an ox and Jay gets that brut force. But Jay is a very skilled ,trained wrestler, amateur and professionally. He is not about to let the tuff guys take him down – and he doesn’t. Lance says he’ll go to Scotland for the rematch.
